JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you a recent graduate with a keen interest in structural engineering?
As a Structural Engineer at Doshin Rubber Products Sdn. Bhd., you’ll have the opportunity to work on designing and analyzing steel joints and bearing systems for various projects, including bridges and buildings. Gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and technologies, including ETABS and CAD software.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in designing steel joints, including bolted and welded connections, for bridges or buildings.
OTHER PERSONAL CAPABILITIES
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D drawing software (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with international design codes (Eurocodes, AASHTO, ASCE, British codes) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client liaison and teamwork.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
KEY RESPOSIBILITIES
a. Steel Joint Design:
- Assist in developing and analyzing designs for steel joints, including bolted and welded connections.
- Ensure designs meet structural requirements, safety standards, and project specifications.
b. Bearing Systems Design:
- Contribute to the design and analysis of bearing systems such as laminated rubber bearings, pot bearings, and restraint bearings.
- Gain hands-on experience in accommodating structural movements and loads.
- Utilize ETABS for structural analysis, and interpret ETABS results to enhance design solutions
c. Client Liaison:
- Work with clients to understand their needs and help provide solutions for joint designs and bearing systems.
- Develop your communication skills by discussing design options and recommendations.
d. Drawing and Documentation:
- Create 2D and 3D drawings for components and assemblies using software tools (AutoCAD, Inventor).
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including calculations and reports.
e. Compliance and Standards:
- Apply international design codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, AASHTO, ASCE, British codes) to ensure designs are up-to-date.
- Stay current with industry practices and trends.
